I saw so many outstanding exhibits last week at NACS, the top conference for professionals in the convenience store industry. If you were too busy checking up on your booths at the show, or you were in the office preparing for future shows, here’s a recap of what I saw:
- Photo ops. Many companies successfully used professional photo opportunities—a photographer who took pictures of attendees next to props—to draw attention to their exhibits. I saw lines of attendees waiting for their photos to be taken, an excellent time for a company rep to engage them in conversation.
- Vinyl inlays. I saw many vinyl flooring inlays used to great effect, leading attendees right into key areas of exhibits. This is a tried-and-true tactic: create a path and people will follow it.
- Carpet inlays. Carpet inlays worked well to call attention to new products. I watched attendees’ heads turn and their feet move right toward new products set atop carpet inlays.
- Easy-to-clean vinyl flooring. At a show that’s all about candy and snacks, there were plenty of crumbs! Vinyl flooring made for fast cleanup of spills.
- EZ Down planks. I saw EZ Down planks used to great advantage in more than one booth with a lot of traffic. EZ Down planks are durable and can be reused, a win-win for you and your customers.
- The most popular giveaway: Branded canvas totes won this year at NACS, as visitors stuffed candy, snacks and handouts into free, branded bags.
